After installing the XMSC 2.5.0 OS X.pkg, I don't see any XLR8 item in my system preferences. The description of what should take place is all for OS 9. Why is there no instruction for OS X? Where can I access the installed tools? There is nothing new in my System Preferences. Who dropped the ball big time on this?

The instructions were in the installer... which you could have read/printed, and also inthe XLR8 folder installed in Applications. Note that the older 2.5 does not work with OS's 10.2 and later. You will need to purchase 3.4.2 at:

I should purchase the software to use your product?  You can't excpect anyone to respect that style of business practice.

If it doesn't work with OS X (and you insinuate I'm an idiot to think it will) why is the folder on the installer CD labeled "For Mac OS X Only"?

It does work with OSX. Just not the later versions. The 2.5 wasn't distributed by Daystar. It was put out by an earlier company. When Apple changed the kernal rules, Daystar rewrote the software. I suggest you take up your argument with Apple... since they are the ones that caused the complete rewrite.
