hey gary,

i'm trying to figure out some stuff i'm seeing from xbench as well as get a good setting for every day work where i can minimize temp increases and fan noise. i'm willing to hear the fan and deal w/ higher temps when i'm pushing lots of pixels in pshop or a 3d app. but for normal stuff, i enjoy the quiet.

would this be better discussed offline via email? i'm not sure if its ok to upload xbench settings.

in a nutshell, i'm seeing temps that hover around 138-140 (f). then i get the fan. this is under the highest processor setting/better performance while doing normal stuff (safari open).

i switched the proc setting to automatic/normal, and i'm seeing temps in the 100-105 range (f) and no fan.

thinking that the lowest or automatic proc setting would be equal in speed to what WAS highest before the upgrade, i ran the xbench tests. they indicated REALLY different scores. maybe i'm not understanding what i see correctly.

let me know. thanks. marc
