Is there a news on fixing my issue of booting the Leopard install disk? My last message was 11/17 with the info from the Verbose mode boot attempt.

As it turns out. The easiest way to install Leopard on a slower PowerBook, or Power Mac or upgraded system, is to simply use the free "Leopard Assist" from LowEnd Mac.

You can download it at: http://daystartechnology.com/leopardassist/

I downloaded the Leopard Assistant as suggested but my machine will still not boot into the installer. When I used verbose mode it stops at the same point it was before as detailed in the 11/17 post.

Well, your verbose mode insists that it is having issues with the Airport. Is your Airport card working correctly?

The Airport card is working fine in Tiger. There is no sign of any problem with it except when I try to boot to install Leopard.

I tried again last weekend to load Leopard on to my PowerBook by using an iMac and hooking up the PB in target disk mode. The install went fine and I tried to do updates. The install lasted about the same length has the first time, 4 hours, after a restart the machine would not boot anymore. I had to boot from clone on an external drive and reload Tiger.

Can you suggest a plan to take this machine back to factory spec? Something is not right since Leopard will not run on this machine longer than a few hours.
