I bought a powerbook G4 in Sep 2006 from a guy on ebay and had no problems up antill the last few months. I run Final Scratch 2 on it mostly and sometimes Abelton and surf the net a lot (6-8hrs a day).
The main problem is it crashes/freezes up at least a few times a day, especialy if I move it from my lap to the table and sometimes when I close it (when I open it up again its just a black screen and I have hold down the power button and then rebot).
Not good when I'm using to DJ out with Final Scratch 2.
When I do a sound check at the beginning of the night everything is fine but once I have to swap over from the dj before I sometimes have to rebot the computer twice to get sound??? Is this Final scratch software problem or my mac???
Also my CD drive just spits CD out, but sometimes plays them, it doesn't seem to matter what CD it is. The power supply flickers on and off a bit, could this be causing the crashing?
I starting to feel that its on its way out and would like to upgrade but the FS2 software is not compatible with the macbook pro duel core, and upgrading both would be really expensive.
Could anyone give me some advance as to what might be cauing the problems or how I can get them fixed.
I have run verify disk / verify disk permissions / repair disk permissions in disk utility
and have 25GB free space and it doesn't seem to have made any difference.
