I bought a Giga Designs 1.8GHz (7447A) Dual Processor upgrade for my Digital Audio G4/533 DP PowerMac from Daystar in 12/2005 because of previous excellent product support from the Daystar tech staff. There are many vendors to choose from if you want a Giga Designs upgrade, including the Giga Designs store itself, but I chose Daystar because of Gary Dailey's encouragement, and his deep, thorough knowledge of Macintosh computers, Mac software, and all the various hardware configurations Apple's made in recent memory.
I must have emailed Gary at least 10 times regarding the purchase, and doing the upgrade itself, before I finally took the plunge and bought the Giga board. I started out wanting to do the upgrade back in 3/2005, but other priorities came first, and Gary and I kept in touch with each other until I got it together.
Gary's emails were cordial, friendly, and informative. He always answered my questions within a couple of hours, I don't think there's any company like Daystar, and I'm extremely happy about my new G-Celerator...it's transformed that Digital Audio PowerMac into a powerhouse.
I also run two XLR8 legacy products, which work as advertised: 2 MACh Carrier G4/450MHz CPU upgrades, one in a PowerMac 9600/300, and the other in a SuperMac S900L/200. Both machines are running OS 10.3.9 with MACh Speed Control software, and I've never had a problem with either of them. The Daystar CPU software just works fantastic, seamlessly, doing its job of maintaining the right cache ratio, thermal monitoring, CPU control and Write-through.
There isn't another Apple/Macintosh company like Daystar. It's simply in a class of its own, with Gary at the helm and his many innovative products. I'll always come back to Daystar because I can trust their products, and software, to work 110%. And there's nothing like having a resource like Gary when there's questions to be answered, and problems to be solved.
Daystar, you're the best! Last edited on Wed Dec 28th, 2005 09:36 pm by rexrzer
